Peer Review Process

Our Nilam International Research Journal of Arts and Culture is committed to work towards enhancing high quality of publications with prominent policy implications. We know that our contributions will improve the study on society and culture. Hence each manuscript is meticulously studies through the following process:

  • The members of our Editorial Board will assess the quality and content of the paper first.
  • They analyse the suitability in terms of scope, methodology and originality.
  • The first assessment is initiated based on the quality guidelines, structure of the paper and the proper methodology followed by the paper writer.
  • Once the satisfactory comment is received from the internal Editor about suitable for publication that paper is sent to two Peer Reviewers for their views

The Reviewers will make comments regarding the suitability of papers on the following categories.

  1. Original Structure of the Paper
  2. The Value of Research content and questions answered and unanswered.
  3. The effectiveness in conceptual framework of the paper.
  4. The meaningful and indepth discussion on the theme.
  5. The identification of points, on what way the paper will contribute to the core aim of our Journal viz, promoting Arts & Culture with new dimensions.
  6. Ensuring Academic Quality and Methodology.

Once the final comment is received from the Peer Reviewers, the decision of acceptance of the paper is taken by the Editorial Board headed by Chief Editor. After that the information is passed to the author regarding status of submission of his/her paper.


Open Access Policy System

Our journal is an open access format, it enables that all contents are freely available without any charge to the user. It allows the users to read, copy, download, distribute, and print the full text of the papers published in journal without getting any prior permission from the publisher or the author.

By the way of open access system our journal provides immediate access to academicians on its content. The principle we follow that making research in fair manner. It captivates the public supports on the global exchange of knowledge.


Publication Ethics And Publication Malpractice Statement

Nilam International Research Journal of Arts and Culture follows the highest standard in the aspects of ethics and malpractice formed by the committee on Publication Ethics in the second conference on Integrity of Research held at Singapore on 2010.


Duties of the Editors
  • Publication Decisions
  • The Chief Editor decides the articles submitted to the journal get published. The editor may have dialogue with the members of the Editorial Board or Reviewers in taking the decision before the publication of the paper. The chief editor and Associate Editor acted according to the editorial policies of the journal, they also oversee the legal requirements such as copyright infringement, verbatim and plagiarism.

  • Fair Play
  • The Editor and Editorial Board members of the Journal evaluate the submitted research articles at any point of time. The members of Editorial are known for their intellectuality and they care only content of the research work, they never assess beyond the academic side of the author such as race, gender, religious belief, ethnicity, citizenship and other philosophical beliefs of the author.

  • Confidentiality
  • The Editors and Editorial Member staff explicit some informations about the submitted papers to the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher. They must not disclose any information to other. Sometimes in the case of the Editorial find Nilam Journal may disclose to the third parties for the institutional investigation. This committee is formed at institutional level or among the other editors.

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
  • The submitted papers which are unpublished must not be used in our Editorial members research activities without the written prior permission of the author. The comments and suggestions of the peer review must be kept confidential and not used for any one’s personal advantage. The Editors should excuse themselves from considering research articles in which they found conflicts of interest resulting ambiguity, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, institutions connected to the papers. Editors should seek all contributors to disclose their academic interests and publish corrections if competing interests are revealed after publication. If needed, other appropriate action should be taken.

  • Involvement and Cooperation in Investigations
  • Nilam will respond the misconduct of the papers raised by readers, reviewers regarding suspicions of research or publication. The issue of plagiarism, verbatim, duplication of publication will be assessed by the journal. In other cases Nilam may request the other appropriate bodies for academic investigation.


    Duties of Reviewers
  • Contribution of Editorial Decisions
  • The Chief Editor and Associate Editor are assisted by Peer Review members in taking editorial decisions. The communications between the editorial and author may help the paper writer in improving the quality of article and suitable for publication.

  • Promptness
  • With a view to ensure promptness the designated referee should notify the Editorial regarding the unqualified research manuscripts. After the comment of a referee who feels no scope for review the Editorial excuse that work from the review process.

  • Confidentiality
  • The manuscripts / Research articles received only by online mode is meticulously preserved as confidential documents. These works should not be shown to anyone, even the title of the work is not discussed with third persons. To maintain high confidentiality the designated editors who verify the article discussed with the authorized paper presenter.

  • Standards of Objectivity
  • The Referees of Journal should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. This method always make the paper content oriented. By this system the personal criticism of the author is totally avoided.

  • Acknowledgement of Sources
  • A Reviewer should brought to the notice on the similarity of a submitted manuscripts with other published papers to the Editorial. In those issues the reviewers should identify the overlap of the authors. The reviewers should notice the statements arguments previously reported with relevant citation of a paper.

  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
  • The informations and suggestion regarding the title taken to write the paper and the ideas of presentation are obtained from Peer Review treated utmost confidential which is not used for personal advantage of any one at any situation. The Reviewers empower not to consider the submitted papers for publication in which the other relationship or connection of the paper with already published works.

  • Reviewer Misconduct
  • The Editors will look reviewer’s misconduct seriously on the following grounds

    1. Breaching the confidentiality of journal’s policy.
    2. Non declaration of conflict of interest on both financial and non financial level.
    3. Causing the unethical use of confidential sources viz statistical and core theme of the paper.
    4. Inordinate delay in peer review process
    5. The allegation such as plagiarism is taken as serious misconduct which is treated in the institutional level.

    Duties of Authors
  • Reporting Standards
  • The journal believes the reporting standards prescribed by editorial will enable the authors to present original research with accuracy. The work should be in objective discussion. A paper should posses enough details and references to permit others to refer the work for other studies. Fraudulent and inaccurate statements in the paper considered as the unethical behavior of the paper writers and deemed as their reporting standard as poor and unacceptable.

  • Data Access and Retention
  • With a view to maintain genuine nature the authors are asked to provide the original material evidences in connection with their article for editorial review. The Provided datas should be in public access that can be prepared and retained after the publication.

  • Originality and Plagiarism
  • Authors should ensure the required publication parameters before submitting his / her papers original in nature. The authors should aware that their work is a not plagiarized content. They must know that work has not been published elsewhere. The author can use the work and/or words of others, on that case the author should appropriately cite or quote to reflects that individual contributions of the work.

  • Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
  • The authors should not to publish their research articles in the same manner in more than one journal. Such kind of publication and even submission of a paper deems unethical publishing behaviour of the author and the work is unacceptable.

  • Acknowledgement of Sources
  • When the author quote the works of other proper acknowledgment must be given. Authors should cite publications in their paper to determine the nature and genuniety of the article.

  • Authorship of the Paper
  • A paper contributor who has devoted important contribution to the conception, execution, and interpretation should be given authorship. Besides significant paper contributors could be listed as co-authors. Certain contributors are also listed as co authors who involved in the work in substantive aspects. The author of the paper should ensure that a co-author should posses the knowledge and understanding of the paper before sent to the journal. All the co authors have approved final version of the content and have agreed to the submission of publication.

  • Hazards
  • The authors clearly identify the use of unusual hazards viz, involving chemicals, equipments in their works.

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
  • All authors should disclose the conflict of interest either in financial or in others in their papers. It is genuine to think that all sources of fluid support for the prescribed work can be known publicly.

  • Fundamental Errors in Published Works
  • It is the duty of the author when he/she finds mistake in the publishing work, on that circumstances author should make in to the notice of Chief Editor/ Associate Editor/Editorial Board or publisher. This step led to correct the paper and ensures the good academic relationship between the author and journal.

    Neither the editors nor the Editorial Board are responsible for authors’ expressed opinions, views, and the contents of the published manuscripts in the journal. The originality, proofreading of manuscripts and errors are the sole responsibility of the individual authors.

     All manuscripts submitted for review and publication in the journal go under double-blind reviews for authenticity of work, ethical issues on contents, and social values. Decisions of the reviewers are the only tool for publication in the journal and will be treated as final.
